Brief

The Isle of Harris is arguably one of the most beautiful locations in the world. We were tasked with creating a website that did the island and this beautiful, family run B&B justice. The site needed to be easy to use and take the headache out of booking for guests.

Exploration

The owners were contemplating using a popular booking system but felt it was too impersonal. There were however, a number of useful aspects that they wanted to be implemented. A clear and well laid out front end with an easy to use back end booking system for the owners to sync with their own calendars.
There were a number of features the house offered and in an industry where click thorough and bounce rates are so high, clarity was key. Iconography was a great way to quickly convey lots of information.
The site is also mobile friendly which is of course crucial for modern users who are more likely to visit from a phone than a laptop.
The site feels cosy with the colours being inspired by the island's incredible landscape. We included things to do on the island, recommendations for local food places and kept the site friendly and easy to use.
